The Government of Georgia has approved the technical regulation titled "Rules for Energy Labeling of Electronic Displays". The technical regulation sets out requirements for labeling and provision of supplementary product information on electronic displays, including televisions, monitors, and digital signage displays.
Please note, each electronic display placed on the market must bear a label provided by suppliers as shown in the pictures below. The label must be displayed on the front of the appliance, hung on it, or placed in such a way that it is clearly visible and unequivocally associated with the specific model.
If the electronic display is in on-mode and visible to customers at the point of sale, the electronic label displayed on the screen may replace the printed label. If an electronic display model is displayed in a point of sale only in packaging, the label printed on or affixed to the box must be visible.
In the case of distance selling or telemarketing, the electronic display label and information table about the product in Georgian must be provided.
All visual advertising for a specific model of electronic display must include the energy efficiency class and the scale of efficiency classes.
For online sales, the service provider must ensure that the electronic label and electronic information table are displayed on the product page in Georgian.
The label must contain the following information:
I - QR code (if the product model is available in the public part of the product database)
II - Supplier’s name or trademark
III - Supplier’s model identifier
IV - Scale of energy efficiency classes from A to G
V - Energy efficiency class when using PmeasuredSDR
VI - On-mode energy consumption in kWh per 1,000h, when playing SDR content
VII - Energy efficiency class when using PmeasuredHDR
VIII - On-mode energy consumption in kWh per 1,000h, when playing HDR content
IX - Visible screen diagonal in centimetres and inches and horizontal and vertical resolution in pixels
X - Number of this Regulation.
The label must be at least 96 mm wide and 192 mm high. If printed in a larger format, all content must remain proportional to the original specifications.
For electronic displays with a diagonal size of the visible area less than 127 cm (50 inches), the label may be scaled down, but not less than 60% of its normal size. The content must nevertheless remain proportional to the specifications above and the QR code must still be readable by commonly available QR readers, such smartphones.
The energy efficiency class of an electronic display is determined based on its Energy Efficiency index for labelling (EEIlabel) as specified in the table below:
The technical regulation comes into force on December 31, 2025.
